Celebrities jackets

I'm always wary of celebrities and specially rappers wearing clothes that are outside of the mainstream fashion. If vintage jackets are hard to come by and often expensive, imagine if this takes off. Already happened with, for example, Arcteryx clothes in which it was hard to even get a beanie and you could easily see them being resold online for 2-4 times the price

Agreed, it’s simple economics’ supply and demand. With a limited supply of vintage leather jackets, a higher demand from the general public copying rappers and celebrities would shoot the prices up.

More articles like this need to be written for the public to stay away from leather jackets.

1. Is John Steinbeck wearing a leather jacket in this iconic photo? It could be a suede or wool Cossack with leather trims.

2. Is there any relation with John Steinbeck as to why Real Mccoys names its Steinbeck model? The Mccoys jacket (no chest pocket, differ collar, no front buttonholes) doesn’t look like what Steinbeck was wearing.

Not really a celebrity wearing a jacket but certainly a celebrity's jacket I've come across now: Tool x Frank Frazetta x Call & Response leather jacket in lamb leather from Italy, 1250 USD. Don't ask me who Frank, Call or Response are, I only know Tool.

The lining is cool but tacky as hell. The jacket itself looks like quite terrible and just a cash grab.

Is it curious, that I didn't know, who that is??

She is the Heidi Reichineck of the USDemocrats. Good looks and a professinal social media presence as a guarantee to a basic support just because she’s „different“.

That is not meant as a political comment. I don’t know enough about her views to be able to judge based on that.

She’s young, she’s smart, she’s progressive, she’s attractive and she is from New York, so she is seen as the antithesis of Trump.

She also dresses well, without spending a fortune on her clothes.

Other than “smart” and “progressive“ I don’t see anything I would consider a requirement for a good politician... ;).

But really, I don’t know much about her. In terms of media coverage my side of the pond, she seems to punch above her weight exactly for the reasons you stated.
I wish journalists would at least occasionally focus on substance over image these day (Thus my not entirely serious comparison to a local socialist lady whose appreciation rises directly relative to her posts on Insta.).

I’ve noticed that AOC likes wearing crosszips and have several leather jackets (most are suede though). Her jackets look like faux leather. The last one is particularly ripped up.

I’ll gather these outfits were okied by strategists who tailors her image to appeal to what their social media team aggregates as a fair estimate of key fashion choices that are most on brand to her constituency and her teams political aspirations.

Ah, after further close viewing and actually owning one. The jacket Robert (Cash) is wearing is a 60's Cal straight zipper! Those tell tell signs of a Cal are very unique.

I'm quite digging the peacoat Tom Hardy wears in MobLand.

As per a Reddit comment, it's a Schott 740.

That's a Schott - the variant imported to the UK (full retail on these in the UK is now GBP690). If you look a little above and to the side of his top visible button on his left shoulder / right of the phot as we look at it, you can just faintly see Schott's embroidered logo. (TBH, the presence of the logo really put me off buying one, especially at that price, but clearly it must be a selling point for Schott in this market or they wouldn't go to the trouble, It's one of those things most people will never notice, but it's just glaring enough that it would always bug me).

The Schott knockoff has sleeve gussets, and the belt loops were closer together, and no badge holder. IDK, not an expert, but I do have many Cals and Schotts.
