Hey Guys,

First post here after lurking a bit related to leather jackets. I wanted to please ask for some help related to fitment.

I purchased the red brown rainbow country via tailor brando in 4XL. Shipped monday and arrived wednesday super fast 3days. Dylan has been superb the entire way.

My stats are the following
6ft height
210 lb
43inch chest
40inch waist widest
19.5inch shoulder to shoulder

I think the 4XL is a bit too big for my frame and i can comfortably layer on a hoodie. The back seems bunched up a bit.

Wanted to ask if i should try 3XL or 2XL next.
This 4XL is wearable with layering i think.

Picture are unzipped with tshirt, zipped with hoodie, front and back with blue hoodie unzipped.

Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts. Much appreciated! Thanks!
Yeah, too big. 2XL might be a perfect fit, but also might be too tight, so it's hard to recommend. Did Dylan recommend you to get 4XL?

I suggest to decide china jackets size only on measurements. It seems that 2XL-3XL could be very similar in different chinese brands.
Order using size template is only way.
About your jacket , maybe 1 size less could be better.

Yeah, Dylan recommended 4XL but seems a bit too big for my frame per pics.

I might just be between sizes for 2XL and 3XL.

How did the 4XL looked per pics from your opinion?
Too big overall. Long sleeves, empty shoulders, back and front. You can upload a side profile pic, but I would expect it to make you look as if you had a quite larger belly.

I don't recall which size I ordered for the jacket I got from him, but I do recall thinking I would likely be in between the size I got and one size less.

It's almost useless as a foreigner. The way to navigate these apps is by finding items and then buying them through agents that will store your stuff and then ship it once you tell them. If you have any teenager in your life (sons, daughters, cousins, nephews, nieces...) ask them about how to buy fake designer clothes and they may tell you all about Chinese agents to navigate Taobao and the such.

IMO, unless you're buying several things, not worth the money saved with just going with a middleman like Tailor Brando.
Which is basically why I like buyee as they do that

This thread gave me the confidence to finally buy a J24 from Tailor Brando. I “splurged” for the pricier full-grain tea core horsehide version. I figured it’s still much cheaper than any high end brand, so I was okay spending slightly more to perhaps get better leather quality.

I’ll share more details about the order and jacket, per request, but for this post I would like to know if you think I should exchange for one or two sizes larger? Over all, it’s a good, slim fit in the body, but I don’t have room for more than a t shirt underneath. My biggest gripe is the sleeve length, which is uncomfortably short. All measurements on the jacket I received were less than those stated on the size chart.

Pardon the poor lighting. I couldn’t find time during the day to do this.

Even though I like slim fit, this jacket seems to be one or two sizes too small for me.

Thanks for confirming. It’s definitely too small all around. I was just debating between one size up or two sizes up. Dylan was quickly responsive and is going to send me a larger size.

I’ll send share some detailed pictures here of the jacket when I can take some in the light. It really is a great jacket for the price.

Hi guys
Please consider my experience .
Chinese fit is different compared EU or USA fit.
Chinese jackets have a different proportion between shoulders, chest and sleeves lenght.
You have to find a balance.
Sleeves lenght usually is shorter than USA . I wear normally a 42 or LARGE for Schott sizes.
I buy usually 2XL and sometimes 3XL in chinese sizes.
Pay attention that chest is always a bit larger respect shoulders in chines fit . Chinese people have smaller shoulders and shorter arms respect same chest measurement of USA or EU people.
So, ask anytime the real measurements ! Do not be worry to rise 1 or 2 size more!
Good luck

This will obviously differ from country to country but presumably some taxes, duties, fees or tariffs will be incurred when buying from abroad, so how does this work with items which are sent by the supplier, for whatever reason, as a replacement ?
And if they are payable on the replacement item are the duties recoverable for the original item which is being returned.

This is a good question I guess I will let you know once the replacement arrives. AE had covered all these fees when I purchased, but now I’m worried that might not be the case with the replacement directly from Dylan.

As far as the returned item, he had me ship it to a warehouse in California.

ALIEXPRESS cover import taxes only if you pay them to Aliexpress (price under €200) . When you order over €200 item you will pay taxes to customerhouse and you will lost them if you return packet. (It happened to me unfortunatelly)

So, I think a few people here have wondered about shearling jackets from China.

I've always wanted to try a B3 Bomber, but would only really get to wear it a few times a year. So I thought, why not buy a cheap(ish) one from China to give it a shot?

I ordered from Tailor Brando off AliExpress, who recommended a XL based on my height and weight (about 174cm/5'8"ish , 75kg/165lbs). It fits fine - perhaps a bit large but that's ok for me as the intention is to use it as a layering winter jacket.

It has a very strong leather smell. Not chemical or artificial - just a nice leather smell. The cats love it so I assume it's actual shearling.

It's very warm as I shoveled my driveway in it and I was sweating (it's -20C here today).

Initial quality seems great. I wouldn't say its any worse than the jackets I have from Aero or Vanson, but I'm also comparing apples to oranges there. I really like the colour of the shearling.

Anyways, enough blabbing here are the pics:

It looks superb.

If it isn't any worse than Aero or Vanson, perhaps one could be forgiven for comparing woth them. In cases like these, a revealing question would be: if you had no foreknowledge of the brands, how would this compare to the others?
