Boston Baroque's recording of "Messiah" and naturally the Vince Guaraldi Christmas album, but I will say, so much sacred music for Advent and Christmas is beautiful, but especially Stopford's setting for "There is no Rose" is a current favorite.

In ancient West-Germany many had kind of a strange emphasis for Russian „folk“ music, what made careers like that of Hans Rolf Rippert,, aka Ivan Rebroff, possible,

Especially around Christmas that guy tinkled quite successfully around West-German cure bath theaters from Flensburg to Garmisch, for decades.

Ave Maria sung in Latin and performed by a German national posed Eastern Orthodox cantor isn't Russian
folk music but Latin rite hymnal tovarich.:oops:
