Note"
All 3 caps were made by diffrent cap makers.
But they all normally stand up in front & have that puffy look.
I purposely smash them to lay back that's my personal prefrence.
I don't like the front puffy. All 3 are cut or reinforced to puff up.

Love the colour but these could really do with the front badge stiffener for the crown. Great crusher look, what is the crown material please as I thought about buying one of these.
Caps earlier than the 80s, I take it you mean 1930s-60s were similar but some of the materials would have been, leather for the peak(bill), cotton for the rope, maybe kid leather for the sweat band and cotton rayon for the inside liner.The 1980s would have been the last of the traditional caps.
Harley did try reproducing these a few years back but they are awful, peak is plastic/leather look, quality is not great as made, lets say not in the USA, you cant remove the HD badge. Dont be misled if you see one on eBay described as 'Vintage' as that is the word for eBay speak for old, and that can mean just 5-10 years old i.e. a rubbish hat. Diamond Dave's look much better.

Here's a nice one but the peak has been painted from the original white, dump the YMCA chain and it could be a nice hat the the HD wing badge has left stitch marks from it's removal. Really showing it to emphasise the shape of an old 'un.
