Cost of V-Mail

Here's a research question that I haven't been able to find the answer to.

How much did it cost to actually buy V-Mail stationary at the post office or five and dime? They weren't free, were they?

But just as an FYI for others, you were allotted two sheets of V-Mail a day at the post office.
