Tomorrow - at the official Liberation Day - WWII ace Kaj Birksted will finally be honoured - and about time - when a statue of him will be presented in The Churchill Park at The Museum of Liberation in Copenhagen.
(In the park is allready a staue of another danish WWII hero:
Major Anders Lassen, VC.)
Kaj Birksted flew in RAF and had 10 kills to his credit.
As Wing Commander he was also deeply involved in the planning of the arial offensive at D-day.
A book about him, will also be published tomorrow.

Read more about him here:

This is long overdue and I'm very happy to hear this.

For anyone who reads Norwegian (Danish, Swedish) can I recommend Cato Guhnfeldt's new series of books on the two Norwegian Spitfire squadrons in the RAF (331 and 332), "Spitfire Saga", which is an exhaustive history of these units (there's another 3 volumes to come). The first two volumes are currently available - covering 1941 - 1942 and are absolutely incredible.

Just a little plug :)
