Hmmm, when are they going to make a movie about me? “Horsehide” will be the title.

I will happily offer my services for the sequel: “Steerhide & Sandals”

I’ll try to talk my wife into watching it this evening...There isn’t a part where the guy sneaks ebay purchases into a spare closet is there?

If I am the male lead the movie will be titled "HORSE'S ASS"....

To add , that male lead's jacket is too short and his sleeves are too short also !

Indeed the whole jacket is one size too small for him , we've all bought them on ebay with great hopes....

That jacket would look really cool without the fringe imo

Although not quite the same style or hide, on my eventual list to try out is a suede cross zip. I have seen a couple of them from Branded Garments and I think they look pretty neat.

Thanks. Hadn't heard of this, this guy makes some odd films but they've all been kind of enjoyable, in an odd way. Will check it out.

    SPOILERS BELOW!

But man, that shoe fits TFL in a lot of ways, lol.

    Plot (from Wikipedia).

Georges, 44, suddenly leaves his suburb to isolate himself in a mountain village. Before his arrival, he bought for more than €7,500 in cash the 100% deerskin fringe jacket of his dreams, which gave him a «killer style». In a commercial gesture, the seller also offers him a new digital camcorder of which he has no use.

Georges takes a hotel room but, without money, leaves his wedding ring as a deposit to the receptionist. He goes to a bar and sympathizes with Denise, the waitress, and a client accustomed by boasting of his jacket then by introducing himself as a filmmaker in tracing for a film. Denise is interested because she does amateur editing. The next day, Georges finds that he can no longer withdraw money, his account having been blocked by his estranged wife. At the same time, he develops an obsession for his deerskin jacket, giving it a voice and during his conversations, fantasizing about being the only person to own a jacket. Georges then begins to convince unknown people to film them giving up wearing a jacket and giving him the garment, under the pretext of essays for his film. During his travels, Georges is watched by a mute boy whom he spots and hunts, throwing a stone at his face. Denise is fascinated by the images and admits to Georges believing in his project to the point of participating in the financing of the film.

George's fantasy intensifies: he completes his outfit with a deerskin hat that he finds on the corpse of the hotel receptionist after his suicide, then by shoes, while amassing the jackets that he ends up burying. When, one night, a passerby refuses to give him his jacket because of the cold, Georges ends up killing him to get the jacket. He realizes after the fact that his jacket has blood stains and that Denise will see the images of a murder, but the editor believes in the final result and is enthusiastic. Georges will then find all those who didn't give him a jacket and kill them with a ceiling fan blade that he sharpened.

Denise asks for more images and, knowing that Georges lied from the beginning on his film, offers him to become his producer with her father's money. Relieved, Georges wants to mark the event by completing his outfit with a pair of deerskin gloves. Denise takes the camera and films Georges at the edge of a mountain road, pivoting on himself until the father of the mute boy shoots him in the head. Denise retrieves Georges' jacket on her body and continues filming.

In a mid-credits scene, Georges filming himself with his jacket as he approaches a herd of deer.

The above synopsis doesn't describe/explain one of the best bits and plot turning points in the film very well....he starts having delusional conversations with his jacket, and in one of the conversations his jacket tells him it wants to be the ONLY jacket in the world. And the guy responds by telling the jacket that he wants to be the ONLY person in the world wearing a jacket, lol. That's when he carries out a plot to scam people out of their jackets so he can destroy them, which eventually evolves into him murdering people to steal their jackets, as it's easier and less trouble than tricking them out of them.

What made me laugh, and something that I unfortunately found relatable, was how he checked himself out in his jacket every time he passed a mirror or a reflective surface. Watching that made me feel very lame for doing the same thing and bummed me out a little LOL. I also loved the part where he confronts the two women in the bar accusing them of talking about his jacket. They weren't, they were just sitting there minding their own business having a private conversation. But he imagines everyone is noticing his jacket. Also a little too relatable LOL

I was fighting to not want to watch this movie because everything I've read about it seems horrifyingly relatable, and I don't mean just the jacket but now I gotta see it. . .

It was also on the list of best movies. The same list “Butt Boy” was on. And well I know you saw that trailer haha. “But what jacket is he wearing?”

Deerskin shmeerskin - there should be a horror movie about a guy who snaps after a 7-year wait for a GW jacket. He starts offing GW owners for their jackets. At the end, he goes after JC in a showdown in a tannery, who kills him in a skiving machine. The End.
