differences in crown styles, 30's and 40's?

Were fedoras made in these different decades with different styles of crowns? I read somewhere that the tapered look was preferred during the 1940's but not in the previous decade. Any truth to that?

From what I've seen and read about here on Fedora Lounge, the crowns were much taller in the early 1930's. In general I think the crowns were straight up and down through the 1950's. By the '60s I believe the crown tapered inward. I'm not 100 percent on this. [huh]

Lower, more tapered crowns and wide brims became fashionable in the '40s but they were already in the "Mens' Fashion rags" in the '30s.
This is talking in generalisms, though- lower crowns were available earlier, as were narrower brims.....
