I used to, a MC was my sole method of transportation for awhile. I was all set to get a new bike at one point, but I realized that I've gotten into a pretty nasty car wreck about once every 10 years or so. In every case I was the not at fault party. We're talking stopped at a light and being rear ended by an elderly driver going full speed that didn't notice the light was red. Being rear ended on the freeway when traffic came to abrupt stop and the driver behind me didn't notice that traffic had stopped and plowed into me at full speed. A guy making a wild turn across multiple lanes of traffic because he missed a driveway and t-boned me, etc. All these happened when I was driving a car, not a bike. Had any of them happened while on a bike I wouldn't be typing this right now. But anyway, when I reflected upon this I realized that perhaps I had dodged some major ******s by selling my bike years ago and switching to a car, and nixed the idea of getting another bile LOL

Fantastic weekend of scorching weather in the UK, meant plenty of riding on my little KTM.

300 miles across the weekend, including an eclectic ride out with a couple of friends yesterday.

Yessir, your UK "heatwave" news has made Australian MSM news.
That cottage in the backdrop of your snapshot is probably older than Australia !
Enjoy those summer late night sunsets
(now those I do miss...)

Spotted on my morning coffee jaunt.
Just restored 1974/75 BMW R90S.
Spoke to the 70 year old owner and it is just recently finished from restoration.
Done by "him and a mate".....
Lots of NOS parts and some retro copies.
BMW halo bike from the 1970's.
I was 16 and had a Yamaha 50cc when a friend of my father had an R90s new, this exact model and colour.
(I am 67 now !)

I wish I could swap you weather right now. My dream, were I ever to come into the nine figure lottery win, would be to travel the globe across the year and never have to suffer another Summer again.

Nice. I absolutely love the Beemers. When I was in Paris a couple of years ago the R nineT’s were everywhere. I could identify them from blocks away just by the sound. If I were to get a second bike, that’s probably what it would be.

I’ve been following this thread for a while now but have been hesitant to post mine, mostly because some might consider it an abomination to the sport/hobby.

Don’t get me wrong though, I was born and bred on enduros, yamaha xt600, honda nx650 and transalp, then my first bmw was the funduro.

I then took a pause from riding as I moved to another country for several years, so when I came back and recently went to the bmw dealership I couldn’t decide between the r9t or the f900xr, but I realized my needs and use for a bike had changed.

Before I used to go everywhere on the bike and now I mostly use it for quick errands and to avoid congested city traffic, so after test driving it I got this one instead, mostly because this thing is a great inner city ripper and really fun to ride, also dynamic mode is just ridiculously quick off the line for such a thing.
