I paid for my custom Western Cowboy in black teacore today. Very excited, should have it right after I return from summer vacation.

ordered 3/17, just now finished.

So a bit over their original 60 day estimate. Definitely not one of those places that gives you ‘worst case’ and pleasantly beats it.

I’ll actually say I’m a bit annoyed at that aspect with them. As I asked beforehand, worst case scenario due to my travel. They assured me it would be within my 60 day quote.

Turns out it was eighty days exactly, and then didn’t even ship today, it’s just going to be ‘next week’. So it’s turning into 90 days/3 months instead of 60 days/2 months. Not going to harp too hard but that’s a bit unprofessional, especially when they didn’t even do so much as offer a sorry OR EVEN AN UPDATE on my order after deadline missed, I had to continuously ask them after the 60 days.

I love DH leathers, but this custom order experience has let me down from a CS standpoint. Any item I’m spending in excess of $1k on, I want a bit more courtesy and timeline adherence (and if not, a proper communication about what’s up). I think that’s quite reasonable.

Oh sorry to hear that! I might be traveling to canada for a week mid to late August so hopefully it won't come around that time.

Hoping when you get it, the superior construction and fit will make you forget about the delays.

That's a bummer. My first jacket was a 45 day promise time and it was done in 30 days. My second jacket was a 60 day promise time and it took just over 60 days. Matsuda told me they're much busier now than they were last year. I guess the word is out and they are not as under the radar as they were.

Last July when I ordered my HTC I was told 45 days and it was pretty exact. A day or 2 after the 45th day I received a tracking number from DHL and it then arrived pretty quickly after that. I guess it all depends on how busy they are when an order is placed.
