What words or terms do you use when searching on Ebay? Whenever I search, I don't seem to come up with a whole lot. I'm pretty new to Ebay, so maybe I'm just not searchin right.

Have you visited the Ebay search tips page?

"The following search tips will help you save time searching for what you want, narrow your search to get a more precise match, and expand your search to get more choices..."
It is part of a larger "Search help" section which might be useful.

One important thing you might be overlooking, is make sure under your search box where you enter your search criteria, that "Search Title and Description" is checked. Otherwise, it's just looking for matches in the title.
If you're not getting many results b/c your search string is pretty specific (i.e. "blue cotton print shirtwaist b36"), you can save the search, and opt for email notifications. Then whenever something matching your search terms comes up, ebay will send you an email with a link to said item(s). How to do that is discussed in the "Search tips" links above.
