Up for sale is a pair of Allen Edmonds Leeds black shell cordovan in size 12 D. I bought these over 20 years ago, and wore them regularly for about the first decade, and less regularly over the past decade. I believe they have been resoled twice; the current leather soul is in good condition. I took excellent care of them, as I always have with my quality footwear through the years – brushing after every wear, using correctly sized shoe trees, and storing them in bags (bags not included in the sale). The only structural issue I see is that, because I didn’t use a shoehorn, the tops of the heel counter have rubbed out, and will need to be restitched. With proper care, they should last another few decades, at least. I’m only selling them because I’ve gained some weight and my feet have flattened a bit; I can still wear them, but they’re not as comfortable as they used to be.
I’ll put the background in history – my grandfather and father both worked for Endicott Johnson shoe company, and my father was meticulous about caring for his shoes, and I inherited that Jean and I am fascinated with all things leather. I’m going to try to list a pair of Alden shell Corbin wing tips, and a Japanese double helix horse hide car coat.
I have these for sale on eBay (2xdareya - please check my feedback there) for $200 BIN. Asking $175 here.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you – Kelly
