Agree 4 of the 5! I prefer to imitate James Cagney, Donald Duck, and Cary Grant.

Favorite Toast Topping - Blackberry Jam

MATCH

When I was growing up, I spent my summers in the relative wilds of Upstate NY. Blackberries were the bane and boon of my existence. These insidious vines would creep and climb everywhere, and they had sharp thorns to boot. It was nearly a full time job just keeping them from taking over the yard. Blackberries were everywhere.

My sister and I went about all summer with our thumbs and forefingers stained a permanent purple from daily blackberry picking. Between the berries and apples and plums that grew in the garden, we could stay out all day long and never have to go in the house for snacks.

To this day blackberries are one of my very favorite things. Blackberries are down to earth and solid, a sturdy sweetness with its share of tart. My favorite jam is blackberry, and my favorite pie as well. Blackberries remind me of summer and childhood, a worldly innocence. You can take your all-American strawberries and your delicate raspberries, but leave me the blackberries.

This is sweetness with a "knowing edge"!!:)
