Beautiful day on the rocky Oregon Coast. There is a small beach at Smelt Sands State Park, but at high tide, buried under the waves.

Made a pitstop on the way home from picking my wife up . We stopped at an old mine in Dayton, NV, which is the location of the first gold discovery in Nevada. We alao came aross an old car junkyard... they were literally buried under the ground. sadly none are salvageable. The sign said the location used to be the towns dump site so one can only imagine what hides in the soil

Akubra FED IV at the foothills of the Annapurnas, central Nepal.
You can just make out a couple of the 8000 meter peaks behind me. We're not doing any trekking this trip so this is about as close as we'll get to any of the giant ones.
Nepal is much warmer than anticipated.

We were there last summer. Visited Art at Vintage Silhouettes and then up to Crater Lake.

Yesterday, together with Monica and Daniela we were at the opening of the Araki exhibition organized by the "Bisazza Foundation" http://www.fondazionebisazza.it/default.aspx
The place, I really like, is the old productive settlements of the marble tiles (mosaics) turned into a museum where international artists have been called to interpreting Bisazza material by applying it to their artworks.
Here is a brief example of the installations found within the foundation which is also the company's operating center.

Araki's show is very interesting. There are seventy photographs chosen between the exquisite production of the Japanese photographer, especially flowers, women and the advertising campaign made for Bisazza in 2009.
An exhibition to visit in a beautiful place and an example (free) of patronage in applied art

Second trip to the Oregon Coast in as many weeks. The in-laws invited us to come over with them. Perfect weather, although a little hazy in the morning. Food is good here in Oregon. Lots of good seafood and relaxing time. Will hate to leave tomorrow.
In the small port town of Depoe Bay is a resident number of Humpback Whales. They do not migrate to Baja with the rest of the crowd.
They feed in along the sea wall (about 50 yards away) on a regular basis. To the left, BLOWHOLE!
Had a blast watching them today.
