First post as a very new member but long time reader. FWIW...I just received my Chicago jacket from Greg. It is perfect in my opinion. I'm not an expert but I have a few leather jackets (Langlitz Columbia circa 1996, a Vanson Ike from Thurstons, and a Thedi (on order). I've always had a leather jacket of some type since high school in the early 80's and this thing is by far the best! Badalassi Napa Lux (I think) Locharron tartan lining and olive viscose sleeves. It is definitely "squeaky" but I don't mind (others around me may). I can't find any flaw but mostly it just fits perfectly. I thought my Thurston Vanson fit great but this is just a different level. Greg was great. The wait was a bit long - about a year I think - but he's a small shop and when it was my turn, he really worked to get it right and turned it around in about 6 weeks after I sent measurements. He had me send pics of myself in other jackets, personal measurements, measurements of some other jackets, and made recommendations which I thought were well thought out. I think the value is tremendous. It isn't an inexpensive jacket but there are more expensive jackets and while I've yet to receive my Thedi, I did have an opportunity to try one on. I was very impressed and so I ordered one with a few modifications but it was in no way superior to this jacket. When I received the jacket, I noticed that the left side pocket was just right for conceled carry (for those of us where that is legal) and would've requested it with a lether lining but that probably wouldn't occur to most makers (except Langlitz) Personally, I'd give Greg the highest recommendation. Got my Chicago back in December and couldn’t be happier. Fit is (almost) bang on. Unfortunately I lost a good amount of weight so my waist measurement was a little off. Luckily the side adjusters work!

It's my first post in this forum. Thank's for everybody for providing such precise information regarding leather jackets, there is no other place on the internet with such expertise in this niche topic.
I've ordered a custom jacket from Greg, and it should be soon in production after a long wait.
Greg proposed me two different options for the leather that can be provided : his black pigmented ponyhide from Shinki (no teacore, not aniline) and the classic Badalassi minerva.
I was firstly considering a dark brown jacket with a supple leather for the drape, so split down Badalassi is the only option. But I felt in love with the feeling of Shinki's pony : incredible drape, buttery feeling and very profond black. It made me reconsidering black jackets, which was not my original plan.
However, I found extremelly few information on the internet regarding the patina/aging of Shinki's black pigmented ponyhide. I would like to know if anybody here has a used jacket made of this incredible leather with patina. Especially, I would be curious about the shining appearance of this leather, and if it keeps over time or if it fades quickly.
I was also wondering if anybody here has a jacket made of the darkest brown Badalassi minerva (chesnut I suppose), since there is only Nappa lux examples on the internet with this color, Nappa lux being much shinier imho. Hard for me to perceive the color based on leather supplier websites.
Otherwise, I'll post here a feedback once I'll receive the jacket. During the whole process, Greg has been a exceptionnal man, super patient with me, and providing good advices.

What you’re seeing is just tension along the seam. The panel above and below aren’t pulling exactly the same, so it creates that slight puckering. Happens a lot on:
- softer hides
- lighter weight leather
- or jackets that haven’t fully settled yet
Also if it sat for a while (like over winter), the leather kind of stiffens up and you notice it more when you first put it back on
Not a defect, not something to worry about. If anything
- it’ll usually relax with wear
- body heat + movement smooths it out over time
If it was super extreme or uneven across the whole back, that’d be different. But this looks totally within normal range.
I'd reckon that's worth Greg's attention.
Although, looking at some of his pics online, it's visible on other jackets.
Did you put the jacket in a storage? It appears that the leather has contracted somewhat, creating tension on the thread. It´s not a "biggy", IMO, and can well be down to some fluctuations in humidity where you stored the jacket vs. the day-to-day situations.

@stenaloom, what kind of leather is on your jacket?
It's Shinki. I think it straightens out when I put it on so not a big deal. But I'll ask Greg what the thinks just in case.

hello, first post here.... i ordered the litchfieled yesterday, but think i am in between sizes, what says you?
i am 6'2" 200 lbs
chest, 42 1/2", shoulder to shoulder 20", waist 39", 26 1/2" sleeve from shoulder, 29" full length
measured by my tailor this am with a t shirt on and i told her for a leather jacket.........

Do you have another jacket you can use as a comparison? That’s probably the best guide. I’ve gone for the size that has the measurements closest to my other jackets, but it’s not a perfect match up. And that’s ok - it’s easy to get hung up on the exact figures, but even the makers will allow half an inch here or there. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good or you’ll never enjoy your jackets.
I’m looking forward to receiving mine and am hopeful that the stock size will work out just fine. The price is great and I’d been on the lookout for a lighter coloured jacket like this.
