Hello TFL, newbie here!

I'm looking to purchase a 2nd hand Black HH jacket in UK-type double rider style.
At 177cm/68kg, I have a slim build.

1. Question about choosing collar type for double riders (regular? vs short collar)
Generally speaking, is there a type of collar that suits a specific body type better than another?
e.g. Addict AD-02 vs AD-04

2. Japanese Proxy buying (Mercari JP etc.), worth it? (I live in the US) Tips/suggestions appreciated

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Where in the US do you live? If it’s in a big city like LA/SF/NYC, you should go try them on in person. Addict is available in Long Beach, for example.

In terms of style, AD-02 is more commonly found than AD-04. Do you ride a motorcycle?

Thanks! I live in NJ, about 20 min drive from NYC.
I didn't see any stockists listed on Addict website for NYC so I'd given up but any suggestions?
No, I do not ride a motorcycle, this purchase would be for daily wear with little to no activity.

Schott has a bunch of styles you can go to the store and try on to figure out what features in a jacket that you like.

For JP-made leather jackets, Self Edge NY carries several brands that you can go try on for sizing and take a look at their materials+construction.

What’s your suit size and chest+shoulder measurements?

Standard and Strange NY also carries a bunch of JP-made leather jackets.

Vanson also has several stocklist dealers in NYC, you should look them up and check them out regarding your sizing in Vanson. Vanson makes affordable, comfortable double riders.

HH is not made for a faint of heart. That’s why going to feel it out in-person might change your mind. I started out liking lamb, sheep, and deer before being acclimated to cow and horse.

If you ever end up going custom, NYC is also home to several custom leather jacket makers: Lost Worlds, Regius.

I’d say know your size and measurements really well before buying second-hand from JP.

Well noted, thank you!
Just thought the aesthetics of the HH looked phenomenal and didn't even think of the comfortability but that's probably a huge factor in hindsight.
Well I'm glad I made the post here will definitely check out IRL as you suggested!
