Greetings. I've decided to pull the trigger on a Star Sportswear A-2 from Fivestar. I realized I love a darker leather, also the worn in look. I also love rich horsehide, even if it's not as dark, like say, the pull up horsehide. Anybody have an opinion? They both look great in their own way. And while A-2's may not be everyone's cup of tea, I grew up loving them, and have owned a few. The next one will be either one of these. Thanks in advance.

In the event that historical accuracy is an important factor in your decision, original Star jackets were produced in either a semi-aniline finish horsehide or a pigmented finish horsehide. I believe that Eastman verified that cowhide was used as well, through DNA testing. Goatskin was not used by Star on their A-2's.

That is absolutely important. Thank you for the information.
