^^Flat sole lace to toe boots in the US (like the Chippewas) were generally considered roofers’ boots. I think linemen would normally have had heels. Not sure if the roofing is somehow related to the “monkey” designation for the boots, but maybe. Names are tricky though and often really hard to trace. Even when something seems like a reasonable explanation it may well be wrong.
^^ the heels make sense so one don't slip off the electrical pole. Never tried a roofer boot before but it's cool to me. Yep, I hear you seems like its just whatever sticks.
Red wing blacksmith 3345[/QUOTE] Just sold mine to a member here. I absolutely love them and couldnt wait for them to start fading away and get some patina. But after forcing it for 4-5 wears I gave up and sold. My left foot is almost a full half size smaller than my right. Depending on the last, leather thickness, etc...some work and some dont. This last just didnt work for me. Great boots though.
This an interesting question that popped out in this thread: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...out-of-your-system.102234/page-2#post-2732789 What do you guys feel matches well with a blue leather jacket? In my previous pics I matched it with this blue and Burgundy pair of trainers, because I have it. But otherwise I would wear burgundy with it. We're not talking only about the shade of blue of the orginal FW CR that is the origin of this question, but all shades of blue including Vintage Turquoise from Lewis Leathers I will try to take some new pics if we get some light in the coming days
I would possibly pick something white but more present, boots (Lemmy Kilmister, Ritchie Blackmore) or creepers for example. Below some Dainite Town Boots Cheers Turnip
I was amazed and quite happy when my Blue Vanson matched my favorite trainers. I also have both black and blue leather converse. For turquoise it would have to be Vans for me.
These! White or checkers would work as well. The best Vans I’ve ever seen were a Barney’s collab and were woven black leather- they were fantastic!
