Up for sale is a 60s Cal Leather CHP jacket in color black. No size tag, I wear a regular 38 in most leather jackets and this one fits me just fine, but still please see the detailed measurements at the end and use your own judgment.

The jacket is made of some of the heaviest hide you would expect by all standards and the build is a real beast. Moreover, as you can easily notice, what set this jacket apart is its monster-like startling grains, which covers all over. Correct me if I’m wrong, I think technically it might belong to “stretch mark”, which can be a highly sought after feature by some people, and you could find it on many Lost Worlds‘ heavy weight jackets. And I’ve tried very hard to best capture the beauty of them.

There’re a few things worth noting though, please read carefully:
    1. I’ve already had this jacket professionally cleaned. But not sure what kind of leather product the previous owner has applied to it, it does still come with some smell of it, which feels like some oil or diesel based product.
I’m positive that there’s no odor or cigarette smell, but only this one.
    2. The insertion pin of the main zipper has just started fraying, but it’s still usable and does zip up with some care.
    3. One of the belt loops on the front has a small cut where it is attached to the body. It’s quite small and you probably wouldn’t even notice it, but still I feel obligated to disclose that.

Apart from those, everything else is in very good condition. The leather has some small scratches here and there from years of normal use, and some paint. All other zippers work flawlessly. And the lining is perfectly intact and clean.

    Appropriate measurements:
    Shoulder to shoulder: 17”
    Pit to pit: 20”
    Sleeve length: 23”
Back length (bottom of the collar to bottom): 22.5”

Asking for 280 PayPal Friends & Family shipped CONUS.
Thanks for your time and feel free to ask questions.

Who doesn’t?:D Sadly I’ve got such a large rotation and this one is a little bit too heavy for my daily use.

    Dem stretch marks o_O GLWS!

That belt loop doesn't really look like it's going anywhere in the next 100 years.

Of course, it’ll never fit me. This is out of this world. Definitely a LW vibe. Beautiful Cal. Perfect.

Possibly the heaviest looking jacket I've seen photos of... It'd even fit!

Just FYI, i was discussing this kind of grain pattern with Stuart last week.
Apparently this kind of grain is usually found on and around the backbone of the horse, an area called the "draw". The heavier the hides, the more pronounced the "draw" is.

    Right? I know it!
And I get it when you say it looks like Buffalo, but based on my limited experience, I’ve never handled any buffalo hide in this level of thickness and heaviness.
If dinosaurs were still around I would vote for dinosaurs, but a rational guess would still be horse or cow.

    Thanks for the offer.

I wouldn’t tell you that I am one of the rare Schott lovers here and have been trying really hard to keep it as a secret given how it is perceived on this forum:rolleyes:

Just kidding, but seriously, I still have 4 Schott cross zippers in my rotation, and they’re still the ones that I grab all the time as a default choice whenever I want to wear leather, no matter what’s in my closet.

I guess I changed my “leather jacket philosophy” recently, so as much as I love the hide on this one, given that it doesn’t get enough usage, better to let it go. After all, no one can actually “own” a leather jacket, time will take us mortals away, and at the end of day, all we have left is experience and memories.
In the sense of that, if I can’t have any memorable experiences with this jacket, then it really means little to me.

So, there you go. Excuse me for the rambling.

You know what, I learnt the word and the idea of “stretch mark” from no one else but you Sensei Carlos! It was your review thread on the LW J23 where you said that you had asked Stu specifically for this “stretch mark” hide and his answer was that there was no such a thing, yet the result came out exactly as what you wanted.

Now you‘ve just taught me something else. Thanks for the information!

All good! I have three Schott Perfectos that I rotate and honestly, I don't need anything else but then again, I can't help it but want a really heavy jacket when one turns up and this one definitely looks like it might be heavy. :D

At the same time, I know very well it'd be too small for me but I'm not all about wearing these things. Just seeing something I haven't handled before can prove to be enough.

It's a tremendously cool jacket. Sad that those FC's and other knock-offs go for $1200 used, while you have to struggle to get as little as you're asking for this original. This ought to cost $2.5K at least.

If this jacket were a bit bigger, I'd have bought it by now. This really is a steal for this kind of beautiful jacket.

Just out of curiosity, to the seller or the lucky buyer - what is the weight of this jacket?
