I'm selling this topper since it doesn't fit me. The person I bought it from said it was originally purchased in 1915 (the liner indicates it can't be earlier than that). It is a larger size, 7 1/2 (23.5"), crown height 5 5/8", and in excellent condition. There is NO WEAR to the silk plush anywhere, nor is there any wear to the grosgrain or any part of the brim. The sweatband is soft and supple as the day it was made. The liner is in good condition with one small hole at the back, but that is the only thing I found. This hat was really well taken care of. Plush toppers this size and condition are getting harder to find.
I'm also including a Dunn & Co. top hat carrying case which is not original to the hat but fits it perfectly and will provide good protection for it. The case is worn but is still very serviceable. There are two compartments for polishing pads or gloves, etc., but they are empty.
I'm asking $200 +$12 shipping in the US. Outside the US PM me and I can calculate shipping.
