Up for sale is this European-made black Homburg by Herbert Johnson for Brooks Brothers. My date guess is late 1950s to early 1960s.

No flaws, no bites. The feather set is easily removable, just tucked in behind the bow. This Homburg is on the stiff side and fits my 57.4cm head perfectly. The crown is straight in side view, and tapered in front view. The crown felt is not very soft, but holds dry creases just so.

A perfectly decent hat, just another Homburg too many in my collection.

Note the wonderful curve in profile view. The sweatband itself, i.e. the whole construction (not just the brim itself) has that dynamic curve.

I'm asking $90.- shipped from Germany to the U.S. (I have $90 plus shipping into it).

Kaos, I'm always having trouble determining the brim width on a Homburg's curled brim. If you measure in a straight line from the brim break to the curl, thus without following the curvature of the brim, this one is about 2 1/8" at the sides and about 2 1/4" at the front if I recall correctly.
I'm currently out of town, so I'll re-measure when I'm back home on Sunday.

Sure, that's understandable.

Being a Homburg and not a Fedora, the shorter brim is not much of a problem - but since you're looking for a 2.5" brim, this is not the hat for you, unfortunately.
