With the laces on the back is this not a J-22? Or a j-21? I didn’t think the j-24 had those laces in the back. Can someone with more knowledge help out?

Officially there are no RMC buco J-2X apart from J-24 as far as I can tell, but overall I agree that it's not exactly a typical J-24 with those laces.

This is definitely not a real McCoy j24. Or I’ve never seen one with laces. Ever. It almost defies what a j24 is.

I believe it’s an older model, possibly NZ-made? RMC has made versions with laces in years past.

I have no horse in the game here, but I've seen a few of these on JP listings over the years, but I can't specifically find any with this label and lining with side laces on google. I doubt it's a fake or something like that, just rare model. Personally I'd much rather take the side laces over the pointless back zippers as I like a nice tight waist, but that's just me.

The back zippers are “passenger pockets” and have an actual purpose and are a defining characteristic of the j24 which is why I feel like what the seller is selling isn’t a j24. I’m not saying it’s a fake RMC I’m just saying it can’t be a j24 if it’s missing the passenger pockets and has laces in the back.

Yes I know they have a purpose but only in VERY specific cases (riding with a passenger behind you) and therefore pointless/irelevant for 99% of the user base.
I also agree that it's not the typical J-24, but passenger pockets are not a defining characteristic of the J-24 for me. It's more the D-pocket and the full action back. But I'm far from a J-2X expert. @jeo is the one who can give a definitive answer in this case.

Original Bucos never had side laces so whatever they call this model is historically incorrect.

Does a "regular" RMC j-24 have any labels specifying the model?
Because there is a typical RMC label, but no model label on this one.

So a lining tag and a different "made by" tag, but still no model tag indicating that it's a j-24. But that's typical, I don't know of any makers specifying the model on a tag.
