Up for auction: WWI era Elgin Trench watch. Inside the watch case is marked: A.W.C.Co, Sterling (Silver). A.W.C.Co stands for American Watch Case Co out of Canada. Also has the number 1085834 on the case. the USA made Elgin movement is marked: 19106693 ELGIN U.S.A. and SEVEN JEWELS. This watch will run off and on. The bad news: it is missing the crown and the dial is cracked. However, the hands are beautifully blued and the watch appears to have a leather strap likely dating to the period (I say this based on the buckle style and construction).
