enjoy the wonderful wines of the Valpolicella region.
In the last weeks of November and the first of December they were dedicated to the search for producers, in addition to those already known and appreciated. I favored the area of Soave, these producers at home: Gini, Nardello, Prà and Ca Rugate. In the Valpolicella area the discovery was: David Sterza as well as the already appreciated Lorenzo Begali and Le Ragose. For extra pleasure I have also selected some Puglia reds during the holidays that are now in the cellar. Tomorrow Amarone for a barbecue out of season!

Georg Fischer Wien, 59cm probably early 1950s. The felt on this Homburg is very soft in hand and a fine example of a very high quality felt that is of a heavier weight. The over all construction (including components) and condition of the hat are fantastic. This is my first Georg Fischer Wien find so very happy about finding such a great specimen.

Again: great hat. Steve. Another piece of the puzzle of German and Austrian hatmaking.

Nora-Hüte, measures about 57.5 cm, probably early 1950s late 1940s. The condition of this hat is near NOS condition. The darker gun metal gray Velour is really fantastic same with the hat form. The hat appears to be made by the same company that made my Stefan Esders "Velour" which also has no company mark and no paper label. Nora-Hüte appears to be the Vienna hat shop that it was made for but I couldn't find anything about them.

Excellent hat. Looks to be a great velour felt. I can almost feel how smooth that must be. Great find, Steve.

Stefan, Thank you! The Velour is in excellent condition. I don't believe the hat was ever worn and was kept in great condition. The components are not high quality but the Velour is fantastic. I think it was made by the same company that made my Stefan Esders (Vienna Department Store) Velour but also no company marks.

Hückel Weilheim "Chevreau", 58cm probably late 1950s early 1960s. This one is in NOS condition. I have a "Chamois" with a similar small Blue Jay(?) feather so not sure if they came with the hats.

Great find in this condition, Steve. This seems to have been a popular colour for these chamois-like finished hats.

Stefan, Thanks! I have good number of gray Hückel Weilheim "Cheverau", "Chamios" and other models. I will have to put them all together and take a photo. As you know Hückel Weilheim didn't use paper labels so there is no color name or other identifier.
