Hats like this make my day, every time! Your finds never disappoint, Stefan! What a hat to start the New Year!
Thanks, Panos. Very satisfying to find one and it turning out to be the right size!

The size tag has Antilope stamped on it diagonally across the left corner. The stamp is faint and not showing up in my pics but ia legible to the naked eye.
The "Antilope" refers to the finish of the felt.

When I posted the Hückel Durit above I mentioned I'm not always lucky when I buy hats. But sometimes I am. This was sold to me as a size 58. And no sooner the seller had accepted my offer, the bidding price almost doubled. She still sold it to me.
This one would certainly interest Steve (@mayserwegener ) so I bought it.
Hückel Platin velour in grey. Size 57 (it turned out to be; sorry Steve) with the raw edge brim at 5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. The felt is nothing short of incredible; supersoft and shapes with no effort at all. The sheen makes it hard to take good pictures of it. The sweatband is very thin, but still supple for such an old hat. I was a bit cautious at first because the liner logo is one that was used by Tonak as well for their later hats, which don't come even close. The "platin" wasn't a designation they used as far as I know.

Stefan, Don't see many "Platin". I haven't been able to find one in my size so congrats! I really like the "Platin" finish and have no idea how it was accomplished.

KNIZE "Wien - Bad Gastein, New York - Paris" made by P. & C. Habig Wien, 57 cm possibly early 1960s. This hats was made P. & C. Habig Wien for the famous Wien Men's Bespoke Clothing Store KNIZE "Wien - Bad Gastein, New York - Paris". It's a sporty thin ribbon model with a Rauh Felt Finish with a mix of black and grays. The Felt easily dry creases and is in very good condition. Also has the P. & C. Habig Wien patented ventilation system called "Ventilo".

P. & C. Habig Wien "Special Qualität, 58 cm, 124 grams, possibly mid 1930s. It's difficult to find old P. & C. Habig Wien Stiff Felts in normal sizes and this is a great one. As expected from P. & C. Habig Wien everything (Felt, Components, Construction) is top of top quality. Made for R. Hecht "Theater Passage, Leipzig". Also the fit is perfect so no tweaking needed. There is a "Auto Cape" mark but there is no "Auto Cape" present. My guess is the felt insert was removed. You can learn more about "Auto Cape" below.

The inventor Adolf Sindermann has a good number of hat related patents. His company was a major supplier of felt stumpen and capelines.

Today, a new Christmas acquisition that does not come from the far north:

P. & C. Habig Vienna " Hausmarke" in a wonderful brown with matching ribbon.
Height centre dent at 11.0 cm; open crown at 15.0 cm; width unbound brim at 5.5 cm
The hat is certainly pre-war, as the dependency "Berlin Friedrichstraße 82a"
did not survive the war as far as I know - I guess later 30s
Unfortunately, the sweat is damaged at the front, as is the lining,
which is loose in many parts - so it needs some work,
but that does not detract from this rare and wonderful hat,
especially as the "size 60" fits me perfectly with a small insert.
(Sorry for the bad photos, but the winter sun rarely shows up at my place...)

Two great finds, Steve. I find it a bit odd that I rarely see Habig hats as they were such a large manufacturer.

Wonderful hat, Matt. Great colour and form. The sweatband stamp is a really nice touch.

Matt, Sorry I missed this great find. I was traveling over the past weekend. Really fantastic! Very rare to find an old P. & C. Habig Wien and especially one for the Berlin store (did not survive WWII). Also a unique color. Looks super on too!

Steve, you don't have to apologise!
I'm glad that you have now commented on it and approved it. ;)
Unfortunately the condition is not the best, but it fits me instead.
But you have been quite successful in tracking down Habig lately!

Matt, I think you can get the inside looking good. It's rare to find a 1930s or older P. & C. Habig Wien Soft Felt and one from the famous Berlin company store. The form reminds of this 1930s P. & C. Habig Wien Soft Felt sold in Leipzig.

You are absolutely right, Steve: your Habig from Leipzig looks very similar to mine - not only in shape, but also in ribbon treatment. I can't see it clearly, but it looks like your bow also has open ends: not really frayed, as usual, but also not folded over - a Habig characteristic? I haven't seen this before from other manufacturers, but there are still too few examples. How does the felt feel on your hat? On my brown one, the surface is incredibly soft and supple, but the comparatively thick felt - especially at the brim - is also not as flexible-soft (stiffer to handle) as I would have expected. The sweat logo ist nearly the same as on your great Habig Homburg:
https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/what-hat-are-you-wearing-today.94860/page-1888#post-2683698

The picture of the Friedrichstraße/Behrenstraße house in Berlin on your homepage is great - I know it because I had also immediately searched the net again to see if my memory was correct that it had not survived the war. The postcard with the advertisement at night, which you have already shown here, is also great. Unfortunately I can't find a good shot of the corner as it looks today.
