Ah, yes - I remember the days of the bus checks. I don't think there's been anyone quite like that in charge of the busses over there since! I know in more recent years (usually when the marching season kicked off big time in early July with the most contentious of the parade routes) when there have been big disturbances, they usually removed the bus service from those areas. Fair enough, IMO - people in the ghetto parts of Belfat tend to trash shops, busses etc in their own areas, so if they can't respect the service, take it away from 'em!

Quite a character, that guy. Would make a great subject for a biography, assuming none has been written?
