A sign in Nixa, Missouri (hometown of fictional character Jason Bourne) was exposed this week when a building (that was built in 1946 to house a grocery store) was demolished.

This pre-1846 photo shows that the sign was old and somewhat buried under other signage.

The “ghost” is visible once again.

Halltown, Missouri (west of Springfield on old Route 66). This building was a general store. It was an antique store the last time I was inside about 40 years ago. A recent storm exposed some old signage. MFA Feeds and 7-Up.

I’ve been wanting an authentic old 7-Up sign for quite some time, but not so badly that I’ll pay what some are asking for them. Old sign prices have been high over the past few years, but I expect that’ll change before long.

From Clayton, Missouri in 1924.

The John P. Fields bar closed after a delivery truck ran into it and caused structural damage. Subsequent demolition revealed these 1920s ads.
