Attached is a picture of my version. It is rough, just off the flange. The brim curl needs to be cleaned up and the swoop magnified. Perhaps a bit of stiffener. I know it is coarser than you want. But if you are interested and want just a simple two ply knotted cord I will send the hat to you no charge if you pick up the shipping. There is a full 5" crown, 2 5/8" brimA few pics of the kinda, sorta, maybe, similar variety.

Try B.M. Franklin and Co in Atlanta. They use real leather for replacements, their pricing is very reasonable, and from NC to ATL the shipping shouldn't be a deal breaker.
