Good bye Art Buchwald

I’m surprised no one has mention this, the passing of columnist Art Buchwald at 81, living around the bay area, I was taught early on to read the S.F. Chronicle news paper, geez Buchwald had quite a sense of humor, those were the days, the S.F. Chronicle is nothing like its old self, truly sad, R.I.P. Art we'll miss 'ya

Just Wednesday, at the library, a gentleman checked out Art Buchwald's latest book. "Is he still alive?' I answered yes, which at the time was true. He was in our newspaper, too. Always enjoyed his columns, books and interviews.

Yes,the newspapers say: "...he chose to let himself die rather than fight for every ounce of life. Now he has had the last laugh.
Buchwald said his months of dying were the time of his life".

Art was a great guy...

Folks,

Art, was a great guy to say the least. In the past couple years, I had seen him around North Beach and the Sunday evening jazz round up in the Dogpatch. He was fun to talk with, great to laugh with and could charm the lady bartenders. He was a great writer, a great conversationalist and I'm sad to see that he's passed. RIP Art.
