Wasn't Scotty decorated during WWII for something or other? I seem to remember he was not just your average soldier. [huh]

Quite. This is also why mine will be headed off to Switzerland for compression into a synthetic diamond, if all goes according to plan...

He landed on Dday w/ Canadien forces. You never notice it in Trek, but you never really see his right hand. A war wound.he once told me about trying to run in th sand on that beach...then recommended that I read his book. He was very impressed by the beach scenes in Saving Private Ryan.

I've heard one report that he also did some aerial recon & once shot down a German. But I'm not sure about that one. Tho I do know he was an avid pilot.
