This is absolutely beautiful!

Likely dating from the 1980s, this jacket is made from traditional Harris Tweed--thick, sturdy, heavy, designed to keep out the worst weather a Scottish winter can throw at you!

The tweed from which it is cut is absolutely beautiful. A classic barleycorn weave in heathery browns and creams, it is subtly and occasionally flecked with forest green, sky blue, and burnt sunset orange... the subdued natural colours of a Scottish winter. I've included a lot of pictures of the tweed as i's just so beautiful!

The cut and construction of the jacket do full justice to the beautiful tweed from which this is cut. A classic British country jacket, this is a two button model with very subtle darts. It has slightly padded shoulders--but the padding is elegantly done in the British military style and so provides a neat silhouette, as is intended.

It is fully lined and fully canvassed with a single center vent. It features lovely dark brown buttos--one to each cuff, as is traditional for British country jackets.

And this most certainly is a British country jacket--it was Made in Britain, as its label proudly proclaims, being tailored by Hodges, a firm that has been tailoring since 1858!

It is in excellent condition.
