There are so many variables when comnsidering a haircut or what may be considered the prototypical haircut of the era. Face shape, head shape, height, body shape, face shape no one specific cut will do for everyone.

Maybe not a 30's cut like i wanted, but it's the best i can do.

    Pomade is freaking awesome!

    Cheers.

I think it is pretty good. I think the waves make it even cooler. Could be a tad shorter in the neck but that's optional.

Last haircut was about a month ago, planning one this week. It normally is a bit shorter.

    Thank you for the reply.

I just gave myself a haircut inspired by the "Lindorf" cut that originated from Dublin's legendary Waldorf Barber Shop, and I'm thrilled with the way it came out! Don't worry, I've been cutting my own hair for 20 some odd years, so I know what I'm doing! Obviously, Linda at the Waldorf is the expert on this one and her cuts are perfection. I'm pretty happy that I was able to achieve a pretty good facsimile!
I can't take pics, but the "Lindorf" is a severe version of a 30's cut. Here are some pics from The Waldorf's Facebook page:

That does look great, Denso. You have nice, thick, full head of straight hair. Exactly what I always wanted and never had. Wear the hair in good health!

What kind of hairstyle could President Lyndon Johnson be described as having here? This hairstyle (long on top and slicked back, long on sides, slicked to the side and short in the back) seemed to be VERY popular from the 1920s through the 1970s, but did it ever have a name?

I've always really liked haircuts like that. Slick on top with a really aggressive fade/taper.

I really dig the 'line' of the fade, it's slick and classy, but sort of.... dangerous. Just how I like things. Perhaps that makes me strange.

I have straight hair, but I am looking for a more wavy look, optimally as much as William Powell... Any suggestions?
