I love Artie Shaw's music circa 1935!!!! and he lived to the ripe age of 94...wow...and was married 6 times says in his biography. Well his personal life is no concern of mine, it's his music that I like. Have a happy day wherever you are now Artie!

I totally agree with you. However, as much as I tried to ignore it, I couldn't help but notice that he was married to both Lana Turner and Ava Gardner. Two Words: Holy Guacamole. :)

94 years!! That's what I call a long life. But this guy was equally as famous for his music as he was for his notorious sexual exploits. Shaw's eight wives included Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, Kathleen Winsor, Betty Kern, Doris Dowling and Evelyn Keyes. Enough said!!

How can I forget the late great Artie Shaw. He was the only legend from the Golden Age of Music that I actually saw in person and in concert. My parents dragged the little me kickin' and screamin' to Long Island's Westbury Music Fair in 1984.

It was a three hour performance that also included Vic Damone and Rosemary Clooney. Needless to say I was the youngest one in the audience. But, from that day on I became a huge fan of Shaw!!
