Tomorrow is Charlie's 122nd birthday.

I loved the movie about his life and think that Robert Downey Jr. did an excellent job.


My favorite movie of his was The Kid.

Anyone else have a favorite Chaplin movie?

I love Chaplin's work from start to end, and couldn't possibly name a favorite film!

Among the features, besides the best-known ones, I really like some of the "lesser" ones, like The Circus and Limelight. But I have special affection for the Mutual two-reelers (The Adventurer, The Rink, The Pawnshop, The Immigrant, One AM, etc.) These are the quintessence of Chaplin, 12 perfect 20-minute masterpieces made in an astoundingly creative 18-month period. I started collecting these - on Super 8 Blackhawk prints - forty years ago, and I never time of them!

Gold Rush, that was one of my favorite films of his. Especially when the house is tipping perilously over the side of the cliff, what a great gag. That and the giant chicken.

I've always wonder what Chaplin gems we may have been deprived of by J.Edgar running him out of Hollywood.

How Hoover still has his name on a government building is beyond me.....
