That was an interesting read, it gives an in-depth look as to an approximation of when felt qualities started to diminish and the shift in marketing to the higher price points. My biggest takeaway was that around 1955-56 felt qualities started dropping. That and the 'slight' change in pricing to '.95' makes it a bit easier to date a hat.

Hi everyone-- apologies since this is a bit of a tangent, but I'm doing a research project on someone who may have worked at Hat Life magazine briefly in the 1940s. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to access scans of the magazine online? Or, at a stretch, if anyone who has physical copies would be willing to check if he is listed as an editor or contributor?

His name is Lawrence "Larry" T. Shaw. I have an account of him working there possibly as early as 1943, but more likely 1944 or 1945. I suspect he only worked there for a year or two at most.

Thanks for any help!
