  1. Last night it was my Dunlap Supreme 4X, with cheap Margs & great chicken fajitas.

    Cheers folks.

I am posting early as I have been enjoying a new beer for me and I wanted to share. A tasty Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. I picked the beer up as in impluse buy. Only of late have I had the Guinness Draught vs. the Stout. My wife and I have been enjoying a 12 pack of the Draft. This morning at my local liquor store I was picking up a "refill" and another Habiki Whiskey. Seeing this made me curious and an impulse buy found me home starting the grill for lunch and sampling this beer.

It has only been of late that I have discovered that a variety of Guinness exists. I am surprised at my lack of attention to detail.

This Foreign Extra Stout pours black, like a fresh pot of coffee. Thick pour. Thicker pour than Stout. It has a strong, concentrated head that stays with the stout up until the moment it's consumed. Taste, mouth feel and after taste is a real stout. Mild compared to the Founders Stouts, but smooooooth. The 7.5 % ABV does is well hidden under the smooth taste. I like it and I bet that my guests this evening will appreciate it being a stout between the Guinness Draught and the Founders Stouts/Porters that I stock.

If you see this it is a worth experience, IMO.

    Best this afternoon, Eric -

Having a local beer while taking a break on projects. It’s a great yard work beer...:

And another 22 bags of leaves today, time for another beer. It’s starting to get nippley out so a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter sounds good.

Sorry, no hat in the pic, but my yard working Pilgrim is on my head....

I found a small distillery in Denver with a jalepeno white whiskey. I'll bring some next time we head to KC.

A Guinness Foreign Extra Stout this evening as I walk our property with my dog. Tasty beer in the wet drizzly snow that is falling.

  13. TFCD@GC drinking a few of their Stouts during HH. As Eric pointed out, it's perfect weather for Stouts (& beef if you need to eat).

Agreed Jack. First things first, a Guinness Draught Stout and then some beef. I have been strolling and sipping. My dog and I scared up a fox and a couple rabbits while walking the property.

Back inside and taking Jack literally and starting to grill a buffalo burger. Good red meat! I will have to settle for the lettuce and tomato slice to be my "vegetable course." Tonight meat trumps all other.

I tip my beer in your direction tonight folks. Cheers, Eric -

  15. I love a good pure bison burger or strip steak. Always wanted to raise some but they are temperamental & mean, nasty critters. And you need good strong fences.

Another beautiful 60F sunny day here. Had to get out of the office for a little ride and stop by a patio for a brew. A local Golden Ale for the golden sunshine today
