Who cares? That's a lifestyle opinion piece.

Here's another one that says the opposite.

And another one.

Even GQ says to wear what you want.

Or maybe, just maybe, wear what makes you feel happy.

Melissa Twigg is a freelance travel, fashion and arts journalist, with a focus on Africa and Asia. She recently returned to London after years of geographical commitment phobia, moving between Paris, Cape Town and Hong Kong.

So this Miss Twigg is not really specialised on any specific topics right? She still writes for SCMP about 'high' fashions (Hermes, LV etc) in China and Asia, so you can pretty much gauge her taste of fashion is.

Now I have also looked at the article. I think there are leather jackets and leather jackets. The pictures shown in the article are definitely not favorable and even a 20 year old would not look better in it. Maybe the author of the article would have taken better pictures from this forum. There are umpteen examples that it can also look good.
The question is whether all the older lamb leather jacket buyers really just want to fight the midlife crisis and come across bad ass, or whether they simply like it.
And what pleases is allowed.

Ever since I've developed an active interest in clothes, I would see this article popping up almost verbatim on an annual basis. Every single year some loser attempts to establish how utterly unique their edgyness is by declaring leather jackets as a complete fashion faux pas, always to an opposte effect. Leather jacket are at this moment most in as they have ever been and the trend only seems to be gaining in popularity.

Absolutely. And you just wonder why even the vegans want their vegan leather jackets as well. They are in high demand as a fact......

Leather has been in style since early man first hit a cow with an axe and said "man i need to wear that thing's skin"
