Anyone know where I can get a hat cleaned and blocked in Boston?

I just sent a hat to Optimo in Chicago fot the same thing. Toppers on Tremont St. is a possibility but I'd be surprised.

Hat cleaning in Boston

Hello,

I'm from Boston myself. I do my own cleaning and blocking using woolite, and the bowl from my rice-steamer. I'm guess I'm lucky that my rice steamer is a 7 1/2.

If your steamer isn't the right size, my best suggestion would be to send your had out of town for cleaning.

If you don't find a shop locally, Optimo in Chicago does an excellent job at reasonable rates.

Thanks, guys. I used to wear hats in the 1980s but fell off the wagon in the mid 1990s. I'm interested in getting some new hats, but I did keep a Dobbs fedora which just needs a good cleaning.

I work in Boston, so I might ask Toppers if they know anyone, but when I went there last week at 12:15 the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, they were closed. I guess they don't want a lot of casual shoppers.

Get yourself an orange hat sponge, a hat brush and a tea kettle and clean it yourself.
