I recently came across a hat pin that I believe belongs on a Stetson hat; It is a small silver cowboy, sort of a characateur, big hat , big six shooter; I think I have seen one posted here before...
Can anyone help me with the vintage of this and what hats it was originally supplied on?
Kind Regards,

Like this one? To my knowledge the Gold one came on the Stetson 100, the Silver on the Stetson 50 and the Black one was on a Stetson 25 maybe. As for the year, late 50's or early 60's I think, JamesPowers could probably "pin" it down for us.

Thanks to you both! Bud-n-texas: Love the photos I've seen of your hats posted here; especially the Stetson Vogue--I had never seen one before.
Mingoslim: I believe we are both Lee Corral owners--LOVE the thin ribbons!
Anyway, thanks for the help on the pin. I'm just getting my feet wet on them and trying desperately to avoid another obsession!
Kind Regards,

I think you're failing spectacularly there, lookoutsjc! I saw your bidding on that pair of Stratoliner pins... lol Were you relieved or disappointed you lost the bid? (If like me on some of my bids, a mixture of both! :p )

I've seen you bidding on eBay; glad to see you here in the Lounge! :eusa_clap

Regards,
Tom

Tom,
No, not doing so well! And yes, I actually was relieved to lose that bid; right before the higher bidder jumped in I had just found an identical TWA marked DC3 pin in an obscure corner of OFAS and had hit the BUY IT NOW key and had it at a fraction of what I was about to pay...this pin, of course, to go with a Stratoliner I had just won on OFAS and probably paid more for than folks would deem sensible! But hey, I AM sensible and responsible at work 60hrs week, right?
If I ever need a 12 step recovery plan, I probably won't be asking any of you guys...!!!
Thanks for the welcome and encouragement,
Kind Regards,
lookoutscj
