nice new version of perry mason, looks a lot ragged than all the older series. I never watched the older TV, but I read the books years ago

Looks like a modern, pre-distressed jacket with vintage styling, worn rather longer and fuller than period, perhaps. It's not bad. Kind of looks like a thick tanned lamb like you used to see on adventurer style jackets back in the 1980's.

Dammit - makes me want to get an Aero Rockerfella.

I put my money on buffalo leather. I had a jacket made with buffalo that had that texture.

It looks like something RRL could do.

As @willyto stated, Himel made it, best to check with them. Neat jacket, though I wouldn't be surprised to hear the one for the movie (or a series?) is made from lamb or light goat.

if you see the buttons, it is gradually moving away from the edge, so I guess the jacket is a lancer front

Studio production usually gets involved in the actual distressing - sandpaper's a favorite tool. By the drape it's got to be a more supple skin. Looks kind of goat-ish but I've got some ancient thinner calfskin that has sueded the same way. I sent a note to Himel - see what the response is.

  14. I sure prefer the more 'tailored' pattern and appearance of the Aero Rockafella.

It's a very cool jacket. Himel made it as said before. Monsivais in LA made the caps used by one of the other characters.

Confirmed with Himel - it's calfskin, supplied by the studio. Studio conducted the treatments on the skin.

Thanks for that. Yeah, I think it's the chemical aging work that makes it look more modern to my eye. I wonder how thick it is.

They said it had some kind of waxy coating applied when they received it. Doesn't look super thick - note the drape.
