Hollywood Glamour Style Photographer

When I was at the Arclight Cinemas here in Hollywood I was admiring the Vintage Glamour shots all along the wall, wondering why I recognized none of the starlets, and thinking a portrait in that style would make a nice gift for my wife (and me!)

Turns out the reason I recognized none of the starlets was that the vintage photos were all modern, the photo subjects were all just regular folks photographed in the style of vintage starlets, and the shutterbug was for hire right here in Los Angeles.

So hire him I did; what do you think?

Those are good. My brother has recently moved to the LA area and I am sure he would like to know. His wife really likes vintage stuff.

He does (or helps with) makeup. He also has accesories, and to a limited degree, wardrobe. The subject being photographed should (maybe after a consultation) show for the photo bringing their own wardrobe.

He shoots large format black and white film.

Say, Wiseguy, would like to know who did the shots. One photographer I am aware of in LA, edge of Hollywood, actually, is Mark Vieira. He actually shoots with George Hurrell's original lens and does the negative re-touching. His web site is http://www.thestarlightstudio.com/

I do vintage style portraits in the San Francisco bay area. http://www.lafterhall.com/intro.html but not with a large format camera.

I have seen that display @ Arclight...both he and Mark Viera's work are very good! Thanks for sharing those pictures. Hurrell was and still is (in my opinion) the best...
