Last year I found this great hoodie from Peter Millar. Wool/cashmere blend. Fits well and looks great with jeans and a t shirt.

That hoodie is worth having, and could well be worn under a leather jacket. It adds warmth without the bulk of the cotton hoodies.

I have a cotton hoodie I bought in San Diego while on a trip to S.D., Los Angeles and Malibu. It was cold at night in S.D. and I had not brought any outerwear as it is always warm in sunny Southern California. The hoodie did a good job for me while in S.D. and by the time we got to the LA area, it had warmed enough that I didn't need it. Still wear it occasionally, but never with the hood up—I don't want to get shot.
