Had a very lucky day today. First I won tickets to a cirque du soleil show that my girlfriend wanted for her daughter. Then I got the bug to stop at the antique shop on the way home. I usually just stop at this one mall that has a vintage clothing booth. But today I stopped at another mall on the way.
I was really scouring the place for hats when I saw 2 flanges. Picked up the larger of the two to see what size it was. I saw the 7 3/8 mark first, but then saw the word, STRATOLINER. We have a Bingo!!
Quickly examined the second flange and although there were no Stetson models stamped into it, it had the same metal "stand mount things" underneath. I suppose this at least ups the odds that this may have also been a Stetson flange.
I took them both up front and was going to ask for the customary 10% discount. One of the women working up front said, "That booth has a 30% sale right now".... we have a YAHTZEE!
Since I'm going to Vegas next week, I've put my lucky rabbit's foot back on the charger.
Anyone else have a flange/block with a model name on it?
