Got a pair of patent leather spectators from Goodwill. Love their look but the squeek has caused me to leave them in the closet. Maybe that's why the owner got rid of them. Have tried conditioner to no avail. How do you get the things to shut up?:)

Not seeing what they look like exactly makes it hard to know what to tell you? The shoes a slip on or tie on shoe? Squeaks come from leather/shoe material moving and rubbing on itself. Movement. The shoe lining may be moving around, or even material in the sole of the shoe is loose. Some shoes the tongue of the shoe is sewn in on the sides, and the stitching in that area can pull a bit making the shoe leather move and squeak. Conditioner at times will work, but even on a dress/formal shoe, you will have to soak it for about a week That can help swell up material a lil bit and see if that does it for you.
