I don't think there is really an answer to this question. I'm not so sure anyone has ever collected enough hats to reach that number. I think "infinity" is being redefined as we speak based on this number of hats in question.
If there is such a number then maybe the person who owned that number isn't telling because the hats fell on him and he smothered under the weight and the lack of oxygen from that pile.
