In "Romancing the Stone?"

In the 1986 movie "Romancing the Stone" (Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas), Michael Douglas uses a pump action shotgun. It has no ejection port on either side. But it does not look like the Ithaca M-37 shotgun I had as a boy. Please identify the shotgun.

Could it have been a Browning Auto-5? Bottom ejection means no visible port on either side.

The shotgun was not an Automatic-5.

The information that Colton/Douglas' shotgun was a M-12 is in error.

I just stumbled on it a few weeks ago. It's a pretty fascinating site, even to the likes of me (I haven't touched a firearm since 1968!)

Apparently, early versions of the Remington 870 were bottom eject.

No Remington 870 has been bottom eject. No Remington 31 was bottom eject. Revert to Model 29s and earlier. Tangentially, Ithaca's M37 is a knock-off of Remington bottom ejects.

I asked on another forum also. The Browning BPS was suggested. If it was in production when the movie was made, circa 1985-86, I think this might be it.

I appreciate all the help and suggestions. This was a niggardly detail that was bugging me.
