Is there a specific name for this type of coat?

A friend of mine sent me a picture from the recent Comic Con of these fellows:



and was curious if there's a name for the specific type of coat that Vader's sporting in the image. My inclination is to think it's just a particularly stylish overcoat, but I figure if anyone'll know different it'll be the other Loungers. So, what do you say?

Yep, looks like a modern costumer's take on a mid 18th century frock coat - is it a long one? With an OTT gaudy, French influenced fabric. Rich people wore elaborate jackets, poorer people wore plain, darker colours such as blue, black or green. I see this style worn by a movie pirate in a Disney franchise.
