JCAUTION Paypal Phishing Scam Email

Caution everyone! If you are an ebay / paypal user there is an email phishing scam going around. If it asks you to click on a link and then enter your sign in password it's a scam.

Paypal will always request you go to their web site not give you a link. If you've done so you need to go to their website directly and change your security info (those questions and answers) and your password.

I was suspicious immediately and forwarded the email to paypal! They confirmed it is phishing scam.

Best wishes and don't get scamed!

Yes, you do not want to answer those emails. Both PayPal and Ebay state that they will never send you an email asking for personal information. If in doubt, contact them.

Three years ago, I received one of those scams and answered it, not knowing the policy of Paypal. Within a day or so, I pulled up my Paypal account and found some weird Ebay purchases on it. The phfishers, I should say the criminals, had also busted in to my Ebay account because, at that time, I had the same password for both.

Luckily, I was able to contact Paypal and Ebay, which had to shut down my account, and I was able stop payments from being taken out of my account.
I also contacted a couple of ebay sellers to let them know why I had been withdrawn from the auctions.

It was a big P.I.A. and had me pretty discombobulated for the better part of a week. It could have been worse.

The worst to come along is a "the item you sold on Ebay has gone undelivered. The buyer has lodged a complaint with Ebay for resolution. Click here to..."
