The hunters catch up on 4 wheelers. Get out and stab the critter attempting to hide in a ditch between 2 fields.I strongly believe that every so often, we need to be reminded of this absolute mega-cringe. Of all the jacket related horrors that I have seen, this bozo is among the top three.
Living in Europe where those "critters" originate from, I can see why you would like to cut back on an invasive species. We have similar problems (e.g. the invasive racoon) but I think we have to accept that in many cases this we be in vain.
Yes! Quick dispatch with a rifle round. And don't forget to make beautiful jackets and leather goods from the hide. The racoon is also a disease spreader. Rabies and distemper. Unfortunately demand for racoon coats and hats has declined well below the supply. However they are also tasty.
My neighbor used to a good job on the skins. A whole bunch of fun chasing hounds through the woods at night with a flashlight and a 22. Not so much fun when one gets hung up on a branch and you have to climb the tree to get it. Very popular in the 1920's and 1930's. Also early 1970's. I didn't look but EBAY must have plenty of options.
