Kansas City Confidential coming to blu-ray

[Atomic Age]

Its a public domain release, but they say they are coming from the original 35mm elements. If the quality is as good as MGM's DVD release, it should look fantastic.

No doubt about it. This is one of my favorite Films Noir, and as you say, the DVD's quality is pretty good. One of my favorite lines:

Bank Official (speaking to Joe Rolfe, who is in police custody)- "(L)eft school to join the Engineers. Good soldier, too. Bronze Star, Purple Heart..."
Rolfe- "Try and buy a cup of coffee with them."

Another one:

Chief Detective to Rolfe, letting the latter go after he was beaten up- "Sorry, Rolfe. You're free to go."
Rolfe- "You're sorry..."
Chief Detective- "These things happen."
Rolfe- "Thanks a lot...for nothing!"
2nd Detective (who beat up Rolfe)- "You heard what he said!"
Rolfe (pushing himself up against the detective)- "I guess you didn't hear me. I said, 'Thanks...for nothing!' "
